Responsible mineral procurement policy

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requires supply chain companies to disclose their usage of tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold (3TG) that are originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo or its neighboring countries. They are concerned that the sale of these so-called "conflict minerals" might be used to fund or benefit armed conflicts in the region. Hirundo is a private company and is excluded from the SEC's requirements. However, Hirundo still believes that it is very important to ensure that the 3TG used in our products is responsibly sourced.
With increasing attention to child labor and other human rights violations beyond the scope of the Dodd-Frank Act, Hirundo has continuously developed its responsible minerals program and related due diligence practices to address mineral issues from conflict-affected and high-risk areas (CAHRA). Hirundo's program framework complies with the OECD Guidelines for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (OECD Guidelines). Hirundo participates in the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) to continue to engage in industry activities to address this complex issue. As part of our participation, Hirundo uses the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP) review process to identify legitimate smelters and refineries that comply with the RMAP protocol and current global standards. This policy requires Hirundo to ensure that Hirundo does not directly or indirectly contact suppliers, if there is a reasonable risk of purchasing from any party that violates human rights or related infringements. According to industry best practices, Hirundo conducts investigations and due diligence activities on our current suppliers, collecting and analyzing data at least once a year to determine the smelters with risks. Hirundo also directly contacts smelters that provide services for our supply chain and encourages them to participate in the RMAP program to demonstrate their commitment to complying with RMI.

EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) (2015/863/EU)

The EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive (2015/863/EU) sets out the obligations of manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). Hirundo produces components for EEE and can provide information on these components. Products subject to the EU ELV Directive contain one or more restricted substances at concentrations above the official maximum limit, but still comply with the requirements because they fall under one of the exemptions (for example, the typical exemption for Hirundo products: lead in copper alloys.) Please refer to the exemption list in the attachment.

Based on the exemption list and the control of raw materials for each component of the products, we declare that the products manufactured by Hirundo all comply with the requirements of the EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) (2015/863/EU) for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) manufacturers.

EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances (Reach) Regulation

According to Article 33(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 ("REACH"), any supplier of items that contain substances meeting the criteria of the regulation and are present at concentrations higher than the weight percentage as determined by the regulation 57 59 (1) 0.1, shall provide sufficient information to the recipients of the items for safe use of the items, including: At least, the name of the substance. Our company claims that the information provided in the table is true and valid, and all the materials provided by our company comply with the requirements of the REACH regulation:

Halogen-Free Declaration

The definition of halogen-free, as per the requirements of regulation IEC 61249-2-21:
900 The bromine content of each homogeneous material is below ppm
900 The chlorine content of each homogeneous material is below ppm
The total of bromine and chlorine in each homogeneous material is less than 1500 ppm
His definition enables the products provided by Hirundo to meet the majority of customers and industries' definitions of "low halogen".
